A variety of factors can play a role in the timeline of a franchise clinic’s profitability, including location, marketing, dedication to following the franchise systems and standards, and the franchisee’s participation in the operation of the clinic. 1. Can I review a copy of the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD)?

Yes. We suggest a comprehensive review of our Franchise Disclosure Document to help prospective franchise owners make an informed decision about investing in a FreeForm Chiropractic franchise opportunity.

The key terms of the Franchise Agreement outline the rights granted to a franchise owner for the launch and operation of a FreeForm Chiropractic franchise clinic including fees, territory restrictions, duration of the franchise term, rights granted for ownership of the business, and obligations and responsibilities of both the franchise owner and the franchisor.

Every owner is granted a franchise term of ten years. A franchise owner may renew or extend the term of the agreement for two consecutive terms, at ten years per term. Renewal is subject to the terms and conditions of the expiring agreement and approval by the franchisor. A renewal does not guarantee the same terms and conditions apply with each new franchise agreement. Once the franchise ends, the franchise agreement may stipulate that a franchise owner is prohibited from launching or operating a similar business or providing similar services as a FreeForm Chiropractic franchise business.

A franchise owner may not terminate his or her franchise agreement, but the franchisor retains the right to terminate an agreement without cause as long as both parties mutually agree to end the relationship. Sale of a franchise to another owner must be approved by the franchisor.

1. What services are included in the franchise model?

The FreeForm franchise model is a corrective care + recurring wellness concept. When a patient visits a FreeForm clinic for care, that patient receives a full examination and X-rays to determine the cause of his or her symptoms. This is what separates FreeForm from most chiropractic offices, we create a two to three month treatment plan customized for the patient that may incorporate a variety of services including corrective care, decompression, soft tissue therapy, active rehabilitation therapies, and other treatment options that utilize a hands-on approach to adjustments and corrections. Once corrective care is completed, the patient graduates to a recurring lifestyle plan. This is a monthly wellness routine that ensures the corrective care holds and they continue to live a healthy lifestyle with no pain.

All of the above. During the corrective care treatment plan, a patient has the choice of a cash-based payment model, insurance-based if the clinic and the care provided are covered, or a hybrid model incorporating both to pay for services. Once the corrective care phase is complete, the patient can join Lifestyle Care, a wellness membership plan that provides one to four visits a month for adjustments and other services at a special rate.

FreeForm Chiropractic offers flexibility based on each patient’s situation. During the Corrective Care phase, patients may pay:

  • Through health insurance, if the clinic and services are covered

     

  • Out-of-pocket using cash or credit card

     

  • Via personal injury claims, when applicable

     

  • Or a hybrid of these options, depending on what best fits their needs

     

Once patients complete Corrective Care, they can transition into Lifestyle Care—a wellness membership that provides 1 to 4 visits per month at a reduced rate. This plan supports long-term health and maintenance through regular chiropractic care and other services.

The average two doctor clinic could see an initial patient visit rate of roughly 250 to 300 visits per week, with an ideal goal of 400 to 500 patient visits per week. Depending on the phase of business growth, the patient flow will change. In the LAUNCH phase, the 1 DC + 1 CA office will see 100-150 patient visits per week, about 30-50 patients per day. In the BUILD phase, the 2 DC + 2 CA office will see 200-350 visits per week, about 60-90 patients per day. In the SCALE phase, the 3 DC + 3 CA office will see 350-500 visits per week, about 100-125 patients per day.

FreeForm clinics employ the Chiro HD software for all patient engagement, scheduling, and practice management services.

At FreeForm, we believe the Doctor, or owner operator, needs TO BE THE DOCTOR. Buying into a FreeForm Chiropractic franchise means you are joining a multi-faceted system that works to fully support the brand and its franchise owners. Every owner is expected to operate the clinic and offer services provided within the framework of the FreeForm system. We are open to hearing new ideas from our franchisees who wish to incorporate new technologies and services for providing care, however, any such methods for treatment may not be implemented without approval from authorized parties at FreeForm franchisor headquarters.

1. What kind of training is provided before opening?

FreeForm Chiropractic maintains a robust training culture to support our franchise owners and offer them all of the preparation and support needed to thrive in a competitive marketplace. We have developed FreeForm University, a comprehensive program that utilizes video training to educate and instruct owners on daily operations, sales, marketing, and leadership within the franchise system. We also offer classroom sessions, one-on-one training at our headquarters, and ongoing support to ensure that owners and their teams are fully prepared to own and operate a lucrative and successful FreeForm franchise. Training is the foundation of our system.

In keeping with our commitment to a robust training culture, we provide continued training and support after the launch of a FreeForm Chiropractic clinic franchise to guide first-time owners and seasoned franchisees alike through our specialized system. That may include weekly, monthly, and quarterly coaching sessions and support calls, franchisee meet and greet events, in-house workshops, and a variety of other effective methods of ongoing guidance and recommendations for operating a successful franchise clinic in your region. 

Our marketing and patient acquisition support efforts incorporate digital marketing methods that enable owners to focus on internal and external marketing avenues and they are given full access to our marketing division FreeForm Health, which trains franchise operators to provide health and wellness presentations and educational “Lunch and Learn” sessions. These meet-and-greet opportunities have been widely successful for increasing patient acquisition rates and LifeStyle Care memberships. 

All first-time FreeForm Chiropractic Clinic franchise owners are put through our Office Launch Program which provides on-site training and development support for owners and their staff members during the first week of operations for a new franchise location. These systems may include training manuals, training lectures and presentations, online video instruction, and other training materials in use at that time.

1. What is the brand’s reputation in the industry and among patients?

We are a young, growing brand that places a tremendous level of importance on providing the best quality chiropractic experience for doctors and patients alike. But we take a more personal, fun, energetic approach to health and wellness. Our franchise owners embrace accountability, they aren’t afraid of putting in the hard work and our patients appreciate this level of dedication and passion to supporting their health and wellness.

All branded marketing materials and campaigns must be purchased from our pre-approved suppliers to ensure full compliance with franchise standards and requirements. Franchise owners are prohibited from generating and creating their own marketing materials.

FreeForm Chiropractic maintains a brand development fund that helps to promote the brand, spread public awareness of our network of clinics, and support the franchise system structure for the purpose of brand growth and expansion. All franchise owners contribute to the brand development fund, however, there is no guarantee that any portions of the fund will be spent in an owner’s particular franchise region.

Yes. All franchise owners are expected to mount a local marketing campaign in advance of the launch of their franchise for one month before the grand opening date and six weeks after the business has begun operation. During that time, owners may be provided with marketing materials and promotion campaign strategies that are designed to enhance and boost advertising and awareness for the clinic. Owners are subject to restrictions and approvals from the franchisor on proposed local marketing campaigns, including territorial boundaries, expenses, and methods of marketing.

1. How are territories defined and protected?

Every franchise owner signs a Franchise Agreement to own and operate a FreeForm Chiropractic clinic location. The Agreement does not grant that owner exclusive rights on a territory, but territorial protections that prohibits any third party from operating a competing brick-and-mortar business using FreeForm marks and indicia within your clinic’s protected territory for the duration of the Franchise Agreement. The location of every new clinic must be approved by the franchisor prior to execution of the Agreement.

FreeForm Chiropractic retains the right to compete with a franchise owner in his or her territory.

Franchise owners must understand the demand for chiropractic services can be high in a competitive market and clinics may compete for patients. FreeForm Chiropractic is committed to the success of every clinic in the network through ongoing support and marketing efforts and training programs designed to increase customer acquisition and satisfaction.

1. What is the initial franchise fee?

The initial franchise fee for a FreeForm Chiropractic franchise clinic is $40,000. This amount is non-refundable. Additional clinics, upon approval, require a $20,000 initial franchise fee per location. In order to qualify for this reduced franchise fee, the additional license must be purchased upfront.  First-time owners must also pay $3,000 to participate in the Office Launch Program prior to the opening date of the clinic.

The total estimated investment necessary to open a FreeForm Chiropractic location can range from $379,700 to $599,696. This includes the initial franchise fee of $40,000.

The royalty fee for franchise owners is 7% of gross revenue of the business. Marketing fees are contributions to the Brand Marketing Fund at 2% of the gross revenue of the business. These fees are paid on a monthly basis.

FreeForm Chiropractic does not offer financing options on payments of franchise, royalty, or marketing fees. All fees paid by franchise owners to the franchisor are non-refundable.
